The double LED light offers 1.5- or 3-second illumination, while the hand-shift feature clears the digital display when the analog hands are being unhelpfully theatrical.

The compromise is straightforward: the watch uses mineral glass, not some magical invulnerability field. Still, for someone who wants a durable, water-resistant analog-digital watch with actual utility and no notification parade, this is a remarkably grown-up way to buy a slightly excessive object.
