At that point, civilisation has clearly failed, and the Orbitkey Nest V2 begins to look less like a lifestyle accessory and more like basic municipal infrastructure.

We picked it because it does more than provide a padded-looking place to shove things. The Nest V2 has movable dividers, dedicated places for cards and loose items, plus a dual-function hinge that also serves as a pen loop. Its single-layer arrangement avoids the archaeological dig required by deep, overstuffed pouches, while Orbitkey says the deeper storage accommodates MacBook chargers.

The more mischievous detail is the integrated Qi wireless charger. A case that can organise your travelling desk detritus and provide a charging surface has correctly identified that modern work involves transporting a modest electronics shop between home, office and train. The specified charging distance is up to 8 mm, so the charging arrangement is properly defined rather than a decorative rumour.

There is, naturally, a tax for this degree of tidiness: the Nest V2 measures 240 x 120 x 50 mm, with a 36 mm internal height. This is a compact organiser only in the grown-up sense of “small enough to pack intentionally”, not the magical sense of “takes up no room whatsoever”. For people already carrying everyday tech, though, we think its configured, single-case approach earns the space.
