The full picture
The Lexon Mina L Audio addresses a deeply contemporary furnishing problem: a small table has room for either a lamp or a speaker, but apparently not both, unless the table is prepared to become a shrine to charging cables. This Soft Gold portable lamp combines the two, with Bluetooth audio built in and 360-degree sound coverage.
We think its appeal lies in the deliberate excess. A normal lamp illuminates a book. This one can set warm white light, switch to one of seven coloured settings, remember the last colour selected, and supply music while doing so. It is furniture-minded gadgetry for the person who considers a playlist part of arranging the room.
At 14 cm across and 17 cm high, the Mina L Audio is compact enough to avoid turning a bedside table into an electronics annex. The aluminium and ABS construction also keeps the proposition more considered than a novelty speaker wearing a lampshade as a disguise.
The compromise arrives after the ambience has been suitably established. Lighting alone is specified for up to 24 hours, while light and music together are rated for up to six hours at 75% brightness and volume. That is plenty for an evening, not an invitation to run a tiny nightclub until breakfast. USB-C charging is included; compatible wireless charging is supported for those who prefer their surfaces as uncluttered as their intentions.
The Irresistible
- A portable lamp and Bluetooth speaker in one compact object, reducing one more opportunity for a side table to accumulate devices.
- Nine lighting colours include cool white, warm white, and seven coloured settings, with dimming and memory for the last selected colour.
- Two units can be paired through TWS technology, which gives the idea a genuinely social-room option rather than leaving it as a solo bedside novelty.
The Clever Part
- The speaker has a stated Bluetooth range of 10 metres and provides 360-degree sound coverage.
- It measures 14 cm in diameter by 17 cm high and is listed at approximately 309 g, making it a restrained addition to a shelf or table.
- Charging works through the included USB-C cable or a compatible wireless charger.
The Fine Print
- Combined lighting and speaker use is specified for up to six hours, versus up to 24 hours when used as a light alone.
- An initial full charge takes approximately four hours by USB or six hours wirelessly, so spontaneous ambience still requires some adult planning.
The Reality Check
- The manual says to keep it dry and not place it in water, making it a poor fit for splash-prone spots where a lamp-speaker seems briefly heroic and then becomes paperwork.
