Liforme Original Yoga Mat

Yoga mats are usually treated as background equipment: unroll, wobble, roll up, forget in a cupboard until a guilty Sunday afternoon. The Liforme Original Yoga Mat makes a rather more ambitious case for itself. Its laser-etched AlignForMe® design puts posture and positioning guides directly under the practitioner, which is useful when left and right have become philosophical concepts halfway through a flow.

The central appeal is not mystical cork-and-incense theatre. Liforme specifies a GripForMe® top surface that absorbs moisture to help prevent slipping during sweaty practice, paired with a natural-rubber base and an eco-polyurethane top layer. We think that combination gives this mat a clear purpose: it is for people whose yoga regularly involves actual perspiration rather than a decorative stretch beside a water bottle.

At approximately 185cm by 68cm, it is longer and wider than the tiny patch of carpet many of us end up claiming at home. The 4.2mm thickness and approximately 2.5kg weight are worth knowing before deciding this will casually live in a tote bag. A complimentary mat bag is included, which handles the carrying bit, though it cannot repeal gravity.

There is environmental housekeeping too. The mat is PVC-free, non-toxic and Vegan Certified, and is designed to biodegrade within 1–5 years in normal landfill conditions. That does mean it needs treating less like indestructible gym flooring and more like a thing with a future: avoid prolonged sunlight and heat, do not fold it, and store it rolled with the coloured alignment side facing outwards.
