The Insta360 X6 Essentials Bundle is for the person who has accepted that one camera is never merely one camera. A 360 camera soon attracts batteries, cables, protection and a selfie stick with the gravitational pull of a drawer full of mystery chargers. We think it makes more sense to begin with the useful orbit already assembled.

Around it sits the practical travelling circus: two Xtreme Batteries, a Utility Fast Charge Case, a 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick, Lens Cap, USB-C Cable and Protective Pouch. That is a far more coherent proposition than buying the camera first and realising, halfway through packing, that the clever bit has nowhere to live.

The bundle also includes an additional year of extended warranty coverage. We like that because specialised kit has a habit of turning ordinary outings into logistics: a rushed train platform, an overpacked weekend bag, somebody asking for a group photo just as the battery anxiety begins. This package at least acknowledges the surrounding faff.

There is one notably unglamorous caveat. The Utility Fast Charge Case is not waterproof or dustproof, and batteries need to be inserted into it separately. So it is a useful charging companion, not an indestructible little vault for throwing into a muddy rucksack and forgetting. A small but important distinction, especially for anyone whose organisation system is currently called “pocket”.

Cold hands are a remarkably effective way to make a perfectly ordinary commute feel like an expedition to the North Sea. Gloves help until you need to hold a phone, fish out keys or operate the sort of ticket barrier clearly designed by somebody with functioning fingertips. The OCOOPA UT5 Nano takes aim at that awkward little gap with two rechargeable hand warmers intended for pockets and gloves.

The appeal is not complicated: two compact, battery-powered warmers instead of one disposable heat pack slowly becoming a damp archaeological find at the bottom of a coat pocket. OCOOPA lists an ultra-nano size, while the manual gives each unit a 2000mAh battery and specifies a 3.5-hour charge through a 5V/1A input. There is also a USB-C cable in the box, which prevents an immediate hunt through the cable drawer, that shrine to obsolete connectors.

We think this earns a place as a practical comfort extra rather than an outdoorsy performance statement. It suits the walk to the station, a chilly office, a dog walk or standing outside while a friend says they are “two minutes away” from somewhere 18 minutes away. The selected UK listing specifically frames it as ultra-slim and glove-friendly, which is the whole point: hands can stay occupied without carrying two small bricks.

There is still the usual rechargeable-gadget administration. The manual includes sensible warnings about low-temperature burns, moisture, disassembly and extreme temperatures, and says children should not use it unsupervised. Anyone flying should consult their airline first. A tiny device that warms your hands is charming; a tiny device that causes airport-admin faff is less so.

The TAMAGOTCHI Paradise White Glacier takes the original pocket-pet premise — keep a small digital being alive while real life emails pile up — and gives it rather more geography. This White Glacier variant begins in the Ice field, with Southern Paradise and Forest also included, so the creature’s domestic arrangements can become surprisingly involved for a device measuring 50 x 20 x 100 mm.

We think that is precisely the appeal. A plain virtual pet is a pleasant little obligation; Paradise adds environments, structures, breeding and inherited genes, allowing the whole affair to edge towards civic administration. The zoom dial moves care from the cellular level to the cosmic level, which is delightfully excessive for an electronic pet.

There is meaningful variety behind the gimmick. Bandai describes 12 species, more than 50 Tamagotchi reachable through environment and care, and over 50,000 possible types once breeding and inherited genes join in. Nobody needs 50,000 possible digital pets. That has never stopped humanity ordering a different desk organiser to hold three pens.

The White Glacier device also has cooperative and competitive communication mini-games, plus a field-expansion function that doubles both releasable Tamagotchis and placeable structures. We picked it because it gives the familiar Tamagotchi format enough systems to reward a more curious player, without pretending a small electronic pet needs to become a full-time lifestyle brand.

A spilled drink on the carpet creates a peculiar kind of domestic panic: too minor for a full-scale cleaning operation, yet sufficiently visible to become the first thing every visitor sees. The Shark StainForce HX100UKT exists for this very modern middle ground, where a rogue coffee or upholstery mishap needs sorting without hauling out a larger machine.

It is a cordless, battery-powered spot cleaner intended for carpets and upholstery, supplied with cleaning chemical, a charger, a Grab & Go caddy, a reversible-bristle 2.5-inch tool and a crevice tool. The little caddy matters more than it sounds; scattered cleaning accessories have a natural tendency to migrate behind the boiler like tiny plastic lemmings.

Shark lists up to 15 minutes of runtime, which frames this as targeted stain duty rather than a way to clean every carpet in a Victorian terrace. The manual also says clean water is not required, while dry stains should first be vacuumed with a traditional vacuum to remove loose dirt. Sensible, mildly annoying, but better than trying to extract yesterday’s biscuit crumbs through sheer optimism.

We think it earns a place for households that want a dedicated response to small disasters on carpets and upholstery. The important caveat is blunt: it is for carpets and upholstery only, not hard surfaces. It is a specialist, then, but a specialist for the sort of mess that somehow appears five minutes before people arrive.

Children’s audio has long occupied an awkward gap between a phone handed over in surrender and a bulky player built like 2004 never ended. The YOTO Mini 4th Gen is a compact kids’ audio player aimed at that gap, with 64 GB of storage for at least 1,000 hours of offline audio. This is an almost ludicrous amount of listening in a 7.5 × 7 × 5 cm box, which is exactly the sort of excess we can get behind.

Its appeal is not merely that it is small. The Mini has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, liquid detection at the USB-C port, and Yoto says it has been drop-tested 30,000 times. Yoto also states that it can withstand up to 30 minutes submerged in up to one metre of water, though it is not designed for intentional or prolonged dunking. Those are specific manufacturer claims, rather than an invitation to test its nautical ambitions.

We think the interesting bit is how deliberately this sidesteps the usual travel-entertainment spiral: dead battery, patchy signal, somebody’s phone held hostage at a strange angle. Offline capacity, wired or Bluetooth headphone support and up to 12 hours of stated battery life make a coherent case for the train, the car and the café where a colouring sheet has failed to negotiate peace.

There are limits, because there are always limits. Charging is USB-C only and takes about two hours from empty under Yoto’s stated conditions; there is no wireless charging and no Bluetooth speaker function at launch. Still, as a compact, purpose-built audio player for ages 3-12, it is a notably sensible little oddity.
