Yoga mats are usually purchased during a brief burst of ambition, then condemned to live behind a door with three tote bags and a rogue umbrella. The Liforme Original Yoga Mat acknowledges that the floor can be surprisingly complicated: hands wander, feet point in different directions, and sweat has the nerve to arrive during the allegedly calming bit.

Its particular trick is the laser-etched AlignForMe® pattern. Rather than asking a person to remember where every limb belongs while attempting a pose named after an animal with no spine, the markings are intended to guide positioning and body awareness. We think that makes it a genuinely useful addition for people who want a little visual structure without turning a practice into a spreadsheet.

The GripForMe® top surface is designed to absorb moisture and help prevent slipping during sweaty practice. Beneath it sits sustainably sourced natural rubber, while the mat remains PVC-free, non-toxic and Vegan Certified. At approximately 185 cm by 68 cm and 4.2 mm thick, it has clearly defined dimensions rather than the usual lifestyle-adjacent fog.

There is, naturally, a small dose of mat stewardship. The Original weighs approximately 2.5 kg, arrives with a complimentary bag, and should be rolled with the coloured alignment side outward rather than folded. It is also designed to biodegrade, which is admirable until someone stores it in direct sun or heat and discovers that environmental credentials are not a licence for chaotic cupboard behaviour.
